My son has actually had that happen to him twice when he was flying in uniform. Neither time was it a "celebrity" who gave up their seat. Just average Joe's. He had two elderly ladies bring him an ice cream cone once while he sat waiting in the airport, give him a hug and thank him. It embarrassed him to death.

It is really refreshing to hear this.
