SHELL SHOCK technology. They were loaded crazy spicy hot from the looks of the case, too. Or maybe just used a lot. IIRC they are reloadable but they require special dies.
Johnny's Reloading Bench did a vid or two maybe?
Try to reload one see what happens and report back. If you aren't interested in experimenting send me 5 cases I'll try it.Very interesting. Thank you.
I always find the brass alternatives to be odd...like the new polymer case rifle ammo (True Velocity) that uses a steel head insert:
Definitely can't reload that stuff!True Velocity Polymer Cased Ammunition - RifleShooter
Move over brass; polymer-cased ammo is the cartridge of the future.www.rifleshootermag.com

Sure, I'll get right on that...Try to reload one see what happens and report back. If you aren't interested in experimenting send me 5 cases I'll try it.
Wouldn't be to hard to try. Lube the case size it slowly and see if it starts to separate. They might be reloadable without fancy dies.Sure, I'll get right on that...
I got 3 Reloads out of aluminum 9mm cases before they started to split.

I was hoping that was a joke.I sure f'n hope not. Anneal that super-conductive case head and see how fast it burns down your castle.
I couldn't get the purple to work.
