What ammo (Slug/Sabot) does your shotgun like.

What ammo does your deer shotgun like the best? What barrel brand,rifling,smooth bore?

My 870 Rem. barrel smooth bore really likes Rem 2 3/4" sluggers. Around 3" at 75 yards. Plenty accurate enough for wooded area I hunt.

I run Winchester Super X rifled slugs through my Remington 1100 if I'm feeling cheap that year and Hornady SST sabots if I'm hunting an area where I may encounter a longer shot.Average about the same as you with the Super X at 75 yards and get about a 2" group at 100 yards with the SST's..Trying out the .44mag this year so the girlfriend is using the 1100

Hornady SST in h&r Ultra Slug hunter 12ga.

In the 870's (my 12, sons 20) 2 3/4 sluggers, I/c choke. In the NEF 12 ga. fully rifled single shot Hornandy 2 3/4 SST's.

My 870 with a fully rifled barrel liked the Lightfield EXP sabots. Sighted in at 100 and still good at 150+yds.

870 smooth bore..cheapo sluggers will shoot a skoal can group at 100 yds.
