I got my S&W 586 back out recently (after a long retirement) and have been loading mostly 158 Missouri swc and stiff loads of 2400 and having a blast.

I Googled your 358429, and it looks good bullet, an Elmer Keith design, 173gr. with a big flat nose. Do you cast them yourself?

Put together some .30-06 for the Garand.
So far at least it seems to like 168gr Sierra's and IMR4895.

    P dog season nears

I loaded .223 last night and will do more today as well as getting started on several hundred more .17 Fireball. I've only got until mid June to get ready. :D

    Ion,
I do not cast myself so am buying. Note the cylinder on the SW 586 might be too short to load the 358429 in 357 case in normal crimp groove. You may have to crimp a 357 case in front of the forward driving band or use a 38 spl case. Be careful with powder charge.

I haven't loaded anything in weeks. My gear is all packed in preparation for my upcoming move to Indiana. Hopefully my current ammo stash holds out until I have a new bench built!

I reloaded for the first time ever today in Andrew's class!

    45 ACP. :D

And so begins your journey to ammunition independence! :)

The last week or so I've been up in Michigan, working on habitat improvement projects. This week I will be replenishing the 9mm ammo supply that my son put a major dent in while I was gone. Also, his birthday is coming up and that means a shooting party, so I've got to put together a few hundred rounds of various ammo for that, too. For some reason, these kids just love the lever-action stuff, so 44/40 is on the list. They also want to shoot a few groups with the '06, but I've already got lots of that on-hand.

    .38 Special-Cast.

I put together some .38 Special
1.160gr. RN-I cast from RCBS 2 cavity mold+sized to .358"-Lubed with "Jakes Red"
2.158gr. RNFP-I cast from Lee 6 cavity mold+sized to .358"-Lubed with "Jakes Red"

Both styles of bullets were loaded over 3.6gr. of TiteGroup, with Rem 1 1/2 SP primers.
Hodgdon's Data sheet shows them at about 900fps.

These were loaded to be fired in my S&W Model 10's--I load similar load in .357 cases for use in my .357Mag. revolvers-S&W J,K,L,and N's...Bill.

I loaded twenty rounds of 35 Remington for my Marlin 336CS. I used 200 grain round nose copper jacketed bullets and IMR3031. I already shot them all, it was fun. The rifle, which is new to me but older than I am, performed flawlessly after my thorough cleaning (the first time out it did not perform flawlessly).

I am going to load more today I think and shoot them tomorrow.
