I think it's safe to say we're all patriots here, but if you had to pick just one, what would you say is the one aspect of the United States that you love the most? I would say for me it's our Liberty; the country was founded on the notion of freedom and for all of our shortcomings (of which there are many), I think we're still the freest people on Earth. The American notion of liberty is a rather unique one, and I feel we're one of the few countries that still at least tries to respect the rights of the individual. So much of the world has adopted socialism to varying degrees, and the collectivist philosophy behind that is just fundamentally incompatible with real individual liberty.

Liberty? There's not as much left as many would like.

Not much anymore. Big brother watching everything, increased taxes, and acceptance of the general public to utilize their voting right to elect those who play modern day Robin Hood.

There's not much different today between the people and government other than increased dependence on government. The notion of being the greatest country in the world is a joke anymore.

One freedom we still have is to speak out against our leadership. Granted, it'll bring a whole new level of scrutiny on you including IRS investigation and Big Brother might put you on a watch list, but for the time being I still have the absolute right to go out into the street and scream to the top of my lungs how much I think Odumbo sucks as president (as long as I don't make comments about wanting him dead, injured, etc.).

Try doing that in many other countries and you can end up in jail or, in some extreme governments, they might just separate your head from your body for such activity.

May not always be perfect but it is the best country on the face of the earth...that's why people around the world want to live here.

Well, I think the ability to be here illegally with no consequences and sign up for free stuff may have a little something to do with it.
