What does everyone think of the new Springfield XDm Compact .45

Has anyone held or better yet bought and fired one of these yet? I am very curious to how it handles and feels.

Wait a minute..... are you talking about the new XDS???? The pistol that their print ads shows as "in stores now"....but their web sight says "shipping soon"? And every dealer in the country just shrugs their shoulders and says "we don't know"?

The XDm 3.8 .45ACP with the 9 round magazine? I carry a XD .45 Compact as my EDC, and the gun is as easy to shoot with the short CC 10 round magazine as it is with the full size 13 round mags. I handled a XDm 3.8 .45 at a recent gun show. The grip is just a little shorter than on my 4" barreled XD, hence it being supplied with a 9 round vs the 10 round magazine of the XD. Great gun, but I prefer the feel of my XD...to each his own. You could use a 9, 10 or 13 rnd magazine in the XDm 3.8. With my old style XD, I carry a 10 in the gun with a 13 rnd magazine for backup ammo.
