    By definition (my definition anyway) an assault rifle should have a lot in common with the daddy of all assault rifles: the Sturmgewehr. Intermediate sized caliber, detachable magazine, selective fire (semi/burst or full auto), shorter barrel. AR-15: NOPE! M-4: YES!
