Ah, a little rattle just means you can run them dirty! After a few thousand rounds they tighten up.

can they take some of the rattle out of the slide frame contact, make it a tighter fit? Thanks for the responses as well.

That is tougher to do. You can have the frame welded and machined, you can squeeze the slide rails a bit to help and you can buy those tail things that tighten it up a bunch, but you kind of mess up the 1911 when they are installed.

I have a 9mm 1911 that has a lot of slop. It’s still and accurate, reliable handgun though even if it does have a healthy dose of battle rattle.
