I have to say..."Shotty"...I don't know why...I guess in my heart of hearts I know that the Fowler or Shotgun were the guns that really tamed the frontier....

IMHO lest my opinion be construed as "testy". I am not saying there should be any form of legislation stating that the word "shotty" should not be used...I am just offering an opinion as the OP requested.

Cringers: Misuse of the word "ideal" for the word "idea"....alot of the DA's here in southern IN make this mistake all the time. I am sick of the way overuse of the way over used word "absolutely". People who can't or won't do their jobs. People that cause me to have to compensate in some way for their lack of skill, awareness, or whatever in just trying to get through a day of modern life without a major problem arising because of them. OK I feel a little better now, Thanks!

I absolutely agree with you on the misuse of "ideal". It absolutely makes people sound like absolute idiots.

I do not get too excited if someone uses slightly incorrect verbage. I do not even mind if someone really likes a firearm that I would not even take home for free.

Like Jayhawk, I mind being hearing a slide drop behind my back. I mind careless handling of firearms. I don't care if the magazine in in your car, if I see the hole in the end of the barrel pointed at me, I mind. Mostly I mind people with attitudes that want to engage in debate when I ask them to be more careful. I do not want to hear about how long you have been handling guns or how many rounds you have fired at your shooting training. I am not impressed of your military training, because if you did that on a military range, the Range officer would have MP's thumping you with night sticks. If someone points a barrel my way and I tell them to watch where they are pointing it, all they have to do is nod their head or say "ok" and stop being dangerous. I sometimes get a quick apology, which is great too.
