I have a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 ga shotgun circa 1975. I have the original stock/forearm and an aftermarket Monte Carlo nylon stock/forearm. The wood stock has factory dimensions with no modifications. The wood is 95% and the bluing on the receiver is 98% or better. I have a 26” ventilated rib choke tube barrel. One aftermarket turkey choke and three Remington screw in chokes tubes. I also have a 24” Hastings rifled cantilevered barrel with a 3x9 Simmons BDC scope mounted on it. With the correct Remington saboted shells it will shoot 2” groups from the bench at 100 yards. I have 6 boxes of the aforementioned Remington slugs.
I used the gun for several years in deer season before rifles became legal in Indiana and a few turkey hunts. I havenÂ’t shot the gun in several years and it has just set in my gun cabinet. My friend has expressed interest in buying the whole set up - lock, stock, and barrel(s), so to speak, including the ammo. IÂ’m struggling to come up with a fair price. I donÂ’t want to give the gun away but I also want to price it fairly to my friend. I have seen occasional ads for current Remington 870 shotguns but the models are bare bones with ugly plain stained wood stocks, parkerized receivers, and bead front sight only. They are a cheap version, in my opinion, of the mid 1970Â’s model of the Remington 870 that I have. On the flip side, a lot of folks donÂ’t give a whit about nice bluing, figured wood, etc. They just want a gun to go bang.
So. . . . . . . . What would be a fair price for everything ?
Thanks in advance.
