For me, full size is most enjoyable. If I were to rank my handguns in terms of enjoyable shooting it would look like this

    Rock Island 5.5" 1911
    Ruger MKIII
    Glock 19
    Keltec PF9

normal carry piece is basically a mirror image of that list however

    Keltec PF9
    Glock 19
    Rock Island 1911

I know its not a hand gun but i got to fire a flint lock rifle which was a lot of fun, and can see how black powder guns could be addicting.

Mid-sized to compact! I have small hands so full-sized pistols (Beretta 92/96's, Glock 20/21's, etc.) are not comfortable to me.

    Personal preference...Ruger SP101, Ruger LCR, Ruger GP100 3" (smaller grip), Glock 32 / 33, etc.

My vote has to go for fullsize, preferebly a 4" barrel. I do like how the M&P compact shoots, and feels though. Even though I'm not a huge fan of smaller pistols. I like them all 9mm, .357SIG, .40, and .45.

I mostly enjoy shooting my 6" barrel S&W 686 .357 but with the cost of ammo being so high, I have been shooting and enjoying my 5.5" barrel Browning Buckmark Target .22 with Aimpoint sight. I guess you could consider both of these to be full size.

Ive always been A big fan of full sized pistols (1911's, sig 226 etc) for shooting & carry purposes .I have had a few compacts & sub compacts & discovered that I feel more comfortable with my hand being filled with grip other than having my pinkey hanging under the pistol Im shooting
