    I would recomend getting somthing decent to start with. Springfield and Colt get alot of love on here for good reason.

    Depends on your budget. If you want in around 450 - 500 I say Rock Island but if you can spend north of $700.00 then I agree with the previous posts.

    You should check out Springfields as previously mentioned and Smith and Wesson has actually come out with some sweet ones. Good luck to you.

    i'm on the same search. I hadn't been looking at S&W's, but today i checked out their line. Scandium Alloy Frames? Is that different than a Colt with an Al frame? anyone ever shot and S&W E-series? i understand it's a weight issue related to using a gun for CC. other than that, what's the difference between steel and Al frames? what changes does it bring to shooting?
