What type of shells to fire out of rifled barrel

For the most accurate+deadly (On Deer), these are what I use:Hornady Ammo 20 Ga 2-3/4 250 Grain SST Sabot Slug Box of 5

For rifled barrels, saboted slugs win the day. You can shoot Foster style slugs, and some have had good luck with them, but they are not designed to be shot in a rifled barrel. It's been a while since I hunted with a slug gun, but I remember the Lightfield hybrid sabots tended to run a little cheaper than some others.

It always seemed to me that slug guns all liked a different load, so in order to squeeze the accuracy out of one, it took a lot of experimenting with different ammo. Target practice with a slug gun is not cheap, and it was never too much fun for me due to so much recoil (12 ga.), so I never found the need for "target ammo." I just found what my gun liked, bought a few boxes of it, got my gun dialed in and shot a box or before season to make sure it was still hitting true and to get my flinch operating again on all cylinders again.

Purple so friggin true. Monstrous recoil is why I switched to BP for gun hunting. I prefer a heavy shove vs a drop kick from Beckham. Plus, the sights and smells from BP are 10x better...not to mention the ballistics

My almost purple answer is "any shell can be fired from a rifled barrel. Just don't expect normal patterns from your shot shells"
