What was your first Handgun?

My first handgun was a Bersa Thunder 9.. I know they have a reputation among some for not being incredibly reliable, but I've put over 1,500 rounds through it without a hitch (although, the rear sight did fall off.. haha).

A S&W Sigma soon traded in on a H&K USP .45

S&W would only fire about every third trigger press, HK was like toting an AR in my pants. Ahh, learning has occured since then!
