    Most schools do.

I have a friend that is a was a teacher He taught 3rd grade for years and wrote his own lesson plans EVERY year. He taught the curriculum and was forever at odds with admin because he would not TEACH THE TESTS.

It was funny that all of his students all passed the tests and his classes had the highest scores in the State.

The whole "teach to the test" is a double edge sword.

On one hand, it forces educators to focus on topics that the public (as determined by elected officials) deem important (eg COTUS).

On the other hand, it leave little room for good educators to color outside the lines so to speak.

He was of the belief that it was not only his job to teach the subject matter, but also to transfer the principles to be used in life.

In my opinion he was a TEACHER.
