Why a lighter if you don't smoke? I can only conceive of a few rare instances of needing a lighter.

In case something needs burnt? I dunno. Its just been handy. Light a candle, light the grill, melt the end of a frayed string, burn evidence (oops ;) ). Even though I don't smoke, lighting up a stranger's cancer-stick can lead to an instant friendship.

I use the lighter WAY more than a spare magazine, but I lug that around too.

Why, in case Cameron Diaz or Kiera Knightly stop by and ask for a light for their cigarette, naturally.

I woulda loved to have gotten "friendly" with Kiera Knightly that one time she asked me for a light.

i found a pretty good use for that small pocket about the big one...extra mag holder! I have a 36 with the single stack mags, so it fits perfectly

XDm, extra mag, Griptilian folder, Fenix PD30 flashlight, 16GB thumb drive (PC fixin' tools), Gerber Compact Sport Multi-Tool (I've assembled entire computers with it), Smart Phone, Wallet (standard stuff incl. LTCH), Keys, cash, change, chapstick, & gum.

I still have an empty cargo & front left pocket. I've been considering tossing together a cargo-pocket-sized 1st aid kit & buying an LC9, practicing with it in my left hand, & tossing it into a pocket holster on that side, as drawing my XDm most often requires me to untuck my shirt...negating its usefulness when my situational awareness fails me or when true surprise occurs.
