Assess true nature of disaster and determine the appropriate preplanned activities to implement. Continue to gather information and assess to determine if plan is OK or if modification / improvising necessary.

asses the seriousness of this incident based on media sources and also personal contacts I have at certain levels of state and federal govt. Then I would contact my pre-determined MSG group members and let them know all the intel I have based on the best fact of the time. then I would deffer to my pre-determined action plans based on the severity of list of probable senarios I have put together, and of coarse current intel would play into it. then I would act accordingly.

could range from, me going immediately and filling up my vehicles gas tanks, to boarding up and duct taping windows (if time isnt on my side), or could be a car trip, or a foot trip. or many more. social networks will be your best friend in the smallest to the largest SHTF incident. I wont be just sitting on the couch watching the news though, I can tell you that. time is of the essence in an emergency. you are competing with EVERYONE ELSE!!!! whether that be fleeing, or standing firm and defending what you have.

a solid plan before even buying your first piece of gear or can of food is critical. make a plan and budget for it and then stick to it till you meet your short term goal.

so if you say "in one month I wanna have an extra 3 days of food, water, and a laminated map of my area" then stick to it and do it. dont deviate and not do it, nor do you wanna buy more, because you already sat down an planned your budget around it remember? So for the next month maybe you wanna plan for an extra week of NEW food and water & a tarp ...... see it keeps going. food and water are key! focus mopre on them than anything else. but dont forget a way to deffend them. many people stock up way too much ammo. they think they are gonna be able to stay in their little apartment or house through the whole end of the world as we know it. well, no, no you wont most likely. or they think they are gonna be able to drive their car down the highway in a mass exedous event with all their 10K rounds of ammo in their car or truck. uh, no, no you wont. dont put all your eggs in one basket. even 300 rounds is A LOT of ammo in the right hands! you wont ever take on a mob and win alone. no matter how many you are killing. they will keep coming if they are hungry enough and you will die.

set short term attainable goals to accomplish big ones. << this rolls into EVERYTHING in life.

You dont think a well trusted friend or relative on your side would be an asset?
I know people I would trust my daughter with, but are lazy ****s :):

i see what your saying and yes, I do believe in a well trusted, trained (or willing to learn), hardworking, group of people you get along with to band together in SHTF. obviously NO ONE gets along ALL the time and agrees on EVERYTHING, but you get what I mean. I dont wanna be in a group I have to sleep with one eye open around, or not trust around my wife and kid. I have people, friends, who I know will be there and do anything possible for me and mine and they know I will for them too.

Just my opinion.. Surround yourself with people and things you trust. Trust with your life because that is what we are talking about. You need friends and family who yu can trust. You need weapons and tools you can trust to do what they are supposed to when you need them to. Make a plan and trust it to work.

In any situation in life a plan helps.. It should also be your first action. It should be done before you have to react..

    Plan
    Prepare
    Procure
    Stock Pile
    Train
    Train some more
    Rotate stock
    Drill
    Drill some more
    Be ready...

Information is one of the biggest factors that will influence your decisions. If you don't know where is safe, which way to go, How your going to get there, your in trouble..

All else fails, rely on yourself..

Listen to whatever mainstream media and the government tells me to do. Surrender my guns, ammo, food, and fuel to the government for the better good. And lastly get in line with the other sheeple at the local FEMA Camp and wait to be executed.

I agree with everyone else about assessing your situation first. If you should find that you are in danger then you must remove yourself from that danger first. I believe the hardest part of assessing your situation though will be obtaining reliable and accurate information. If most people are panicking, you will not be able to rely on their information because many will have a distorted view of their situation. Just my :twocents:.

Of course. I'm just pointing out that while it looks good on paper socialism has never worked in practice.

    Nobody said anything about socialism.

You can't have slackers in groups that want to survive together. Everyone has a role in the plan, and goals that they should be meeting.

Collective action does not equal socialism
