I'll revive this thread by saying my MINI-14. Don't know why it's so much louder than an AR. my friends wife has banned it from our shoots behind their house. She claims it shakes the house.

AR pistol chambered in 5.56 with a 7in. barrel, one of the reasons I sold it was because it was just too loud.
Followed closely by an M1A with an 18in. barrel and an AR-10 with a 16in. barrel.
I still own the AR-10, but the other 2 I sold some time ago.

My CETME is by far the loudest. Beats out my AR, AK, Nagants but not sure why it's so loud. Something to do with the muzzle break I would guess.

Dunno. I always have electronic muffs on when I shoot my guns. But I suspect it's the Taurus Judge Public Defender with 2" barrel, .45Colt.

I've got a Contender in 35 rem 12 inch hunter bbl, So loud I refuse to shoot it without hear even while hunting, for this reason I don't use it much

Ported .35 Rem Contender 14" bbl. Little brother's .308 Browning with the Boss system is darned loud too.
