I really like this video. He gives a good reason why to give up weapons when they come for them.. and how our history comes in to play.

Now thinking about what he's said, would you still not give up your weapons?

After reading the various posts in the political sub-forum, I'm convinced we're doomed. According to many, no matter who gets elected (other than Johnson), Obama and Romney are equally against guns and I can only surmise, it's only a matter of time that the sheeple get what they've voted for.

I think I'll rent a boat and take a ride on Lake Monroe...I certainly hope it doesn't capsize;)

Well, I wouldn't start by posting my plans where the .gov can read it.
And who says that when they come for your guns its gonna be when you're at home and awake.

this vid was made by a very smart, realistic thinkin guy. i am of the same mindset. give em the highpoints and hide the good stuff for a later day. it really is true that if you try to singlehandedly fight off the authorities the only thing that will happen is your family will have one less person to protect them and your house will get shot to hell.

If they come for guns, it will be the police or military, if several people fight against that it will be huge. The police and the military will either substantially step up their efforts or realize that the next attempted seizure of weapons my come at a price and they may be forced to do this against friends and family.

Some of us have lived in places where "they" have come for our guns. We will do what we did there--not comply.

Massive civil disobedience is what happens.

    Look around you:

The compliance rate for California's AWB is less than 1%.

Chicago's handgun freeze was laughed at by Chicagoans.

I"ll give them my guns first the ammo one bullet at a time,

Good luck with that. I think you need to watch the video. The guy makes some really good points, although I don't think that a door-to-door government confiscation scheme is in any way plausible. Much easier to just declare them illegal and lock up whoever is found with one. For those that bury their guns or "lose them in a boating accident", congratulations on doing the government's job for them by rendering your firearms useless.

This thread only means one thing. Ammo is going to get scarce again and Obama will lock up the #1 gun salesman spot for the 4th year in a row, probably breaking his 2008 record. For a time in our history where more states than ever have laws protecting firearm owners and successful carry legislation happening in almost every state within the last decade, there sure are a lot of people who can't wait to die in a hail of bullets on their front porch battling phantom jackboot squads.

So basically go buy a couple cheep guns to give them when they come, and then form an underground resistance with your good guns. Got it? Good.

Since this seems to be perenially ignored:

Sigh it IS that time of year again, "what'll the *******s(s) do if they get another term? Sucks, that that's not just a question for tin-hatters...

Obviously, turning your home into the Alamo for a last stand won't work the 2nd time either, but neither is giving them a couple of "throw-aways". They'll WWF body-slam you and your family in handcuffs and ransack your house looking for the rest of them. After that they'll detain/interrogate you and your family separately (OK little Johnny, if you just tell us where daddy hid his guns, you can all go home...).
If you want to fight, 1st use the legislative system and courts. As long as the fascists&socialists need to keep up the appearance of respecting the rule of law & the constitution, THAT can get the job done.
This scenario really gets traction when they take that agenda to main street without the pretense of coping with a hurricane or riot--when the gov't has declared itself above the rule of law, and us beneath their jack boots.
One HUGE difference that the guy making the video missed, is that in the 1700's there already was an existing institution for that organized resistance: the militia. Yeah, we're still the militia, but then, it was the LAW that people own guns and drill in the local militia unit. People used guns regularly for subsistance hunting and pest/predator control. Everybody had guns and the only controversial about them was whether, or not ,to use them on the King's troops when he declared their rights null and void.
So, if they show up swathed in kevlar riding black helicopters, who do you band together with, without your group getting compromised--go in onesies/twosies to conduct "leaderless revolt"? It would probably have to be something like that to create a critical mass of resistance, and upset by everybody else with martial law, to even begin to turn things around. And God help us!

I wish the feds would announce a complete and total ban on firearms tonight.

At 9:30 pm they could announce the ban and at 9:31 pm we would announce that tomorrow is a national holiday.

By tomorrow afternoon I would be shooting clay pigeons and roasting hogs surrounded by hundreds of my fellow armed citizens.

We would probably get some AQT's in too along with some history.

People nationwide would finally wake up and realize that the government is powerless without the consent of the governed. There would be no attempt to use violence to coerce us as it would be hopelessly ill fated. With any luck we could carry over the momentum to abolish the war on drugs and property taxes too.

Of all the things in the world my government might do, gun confiscation is at the bottom of my list of worries.

There might be a few single males and females who could throw caution to the wind, invoke the memory of the lads at the Concord bridge and offer armed resistance to a takeover bid. But for the rest of us? Who is going to take care of Mrs. Ortega while Ortega rots in a federal prison or a pine box 6' under? Who is going to take care of your young family after you're gone? A couple spectacular scenes like Waco or people being arrested and dragged off to prison for non-compliance and everyone else will fold like cards.

What happened to the resistance in England? Australia?

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!"
