On Monday I went inside the Indy airport Arrival location. Parked my car in the garage for $2/half hour then went inside and ordered a drink from McD's then sat down in the waiting area. I was there picking up a parent who was coming back from Phoenix, AZ. Nobody said a word. I was wearing a black shirt, black holster, with a black handgun... more likely that nobody saw it rather than nobody cared, but I was prepared to go sit in my car if airport staff asked me to leave.

Other than at the airport I've been staying at home resting and taking staying in bed because I've been a little under the weather.

The John Deer dealer just outside of Richmond. My second time OCing and it well. Walked in, was treated well, paid for my parts, and left. I can't tell you how satisfying it was. I have been carrying a handgun since 08 but always CC because I feared being "hassled" if I OCed. I always hated concealing my handgun 100% of the time because I felt like I had something to hide and the handgun I concealed was too small for my hands anyway.

I have been reading the OC threads with interest for the last couple of months. I had reached a comfort level with personal gun ownership that I was now ready take take the next step forward and OC. The essay that tipped me over the edge was this one here:

I tried to rep you, but apparently have to spread it around.
    Congrats.
I agree with the fact that why should I go to all the work to hide, when I'm not doing anything wrong.
And the few times I've CCd, I wonder, did it always suck that bad?
Cause OCing is 100 times more comfortable.

Brickers Pub in Brownsburg just now for lunch. No issues. Main Event last night. I had a nice chat with a fellow from Ohio about the differing gun laws in our neighboring states, got to deploy one of tbhausen's "goodwill" cards, and the bouncer told me everyone thinks I'm a cop, LOL.

To the speedway gas station on 16th across the street from the track. As I walked in I noticed what appeared to be two LEO's (looked extremely young btw) in IMPD long sleeve t shirts and black pants and they were OC'ing. As I was walking out of the gas station to my car I noticed a GARDA truck pull up and a money carrier dude jumped out of the truck. As he was walking into the gas station i noticed he was also OC'ing.

Speedway in Bargersville at 144 & 135. Sheriff's deputy was getting soda next to me, I could feel his urges to curb stomp me, but he must have been in a hurry because he just smiled, nodded, and left. :dunno:

At the local barber shop, Dan's in Munster. I've done it many times before, but this time while I was waiting, one of the barbers who was not with a customer and who also has an LTCH came over and sat next to me and started asking questions about carry in Illinois, the state line is only three short blocks from this barber shop. That started a lively conversation between three of the five barbers, and two other customers besides myself, all on the pro side. Great experience!

walmart and burger king in rochester. no one seemed to notice or care.

it was actually my first time oc, as i used to carry iwb most of the time. felt a little odd at first, but after a few minutes walking around, i stopped waiting to hear a woman's blood-curdling scream of "GUN" and the sound of her fainting.

Lately - Walked dogs around neighborhood. Flower shop in Greenwood.

Rickers this morning. Sheriff was behind me in line, didn't seem to care.

Also found out you can drive +30mph over on 465... as long as the cop is in front of you, not behind you. It was like a personal police escort to my office!

So weird the things you do and don't get pulled over for.

I won't post each and every place I OC forever but will do so the next few times. By posting here, I want to encourage others thinking about OCing that it doesn't seem to big deal to the general public of East Central Indiana as long as the rest of your body posture doesn't come across as "threatening." I am beginning to think that the "fear" I had was more in my head than anything else.

With that said, on Sunday I open carried in the Muncie Menards and the Meijer gas station with no issues. I peacefully went about my business and no one went screaming in the other direction.(As it should be.) :)

Kroger in Rochester. Once again no screams or people taking cover. I'm getting used to this.

I figure if their lights are off and they're just driving, they're setting an example. If they're going 30 over, that's how fast they think we should drive.
