    I hate to be a dick, but just get a Beretta Storm carbine. Whether you own a Beretta pistol or not, its just far and away a higher quality better built pistol caliber carbine than anything currently out there.

    This is from a guy who worked at a range that rented an MP5 Navy, works for a department that issues MP5K PDWs, and has an HK nut buddy with a Vector MP5 carbine and various other feature converted HK semi-auto rifles. I've got more time than most behind MP5s of various flavors.

    The MP5 is a decent SMG, but its not the end all be all video games have made it out to be - ESPECIALLY not in a semi-auto only platform. There are better guns out there in that configuration. Look at the Beretta Storm, a used Ruger PC9, or a used Marlin camp 9.

    What you really want is 5.56 power in the size of the MP5 :ar15:
    Pun intended, its a blast to put rounds down range, at 200 yards!
