Can anyone provide Dan Coats record on 2nd Amend issues?

I can't find hardly anything on the net where he has voted or said how he feels about 2nd Amendment issues.

    How about this:

As Senate Debates Crime Bill, Weapons Ban Is the Focus - NYTimes.com
    NYT 8-23-94, Excerpt:

In the shifting calculations that have gone into keeping the crime bill alive this long, Senate Democrats are now looking to the 10 Republicans who voted in favor of the ban on assault weapons last November, when it passed 56 to 43. 'Right Direction'
Those 10 Republican Senators were Hank Brown of Colorado, John H. Chafee of Rhode Island, Dan Coats of Indiana, John C. Danforth of Missouri, Mark O. Hatfield of Oregon, James M. Jeffords of Vermont, Nancy L. Kassebaum of Kansas, Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, Bob Packwood of Oregon and William V. Roth Jr. of Delaware.

What's that tell you (and note the company he was in: Hatfield, Chafee, Packwood)

Just what we need, a gun grabbing, RINO, bank bailout lobbyist from Virginia. What is the Washington DC Republican establishment thinking by recruiting Coats?

His excuse was that Dick Lugar made him do it? Seriously, why are we being forced to have this crap sandwich rammed down our throat?

    Bainbridge
Dr. Tom Haney has also thrown his hat into the ring and is a strong conservative.

For my money though it's John Hostettler. If Hostettler's not going to go kick Ellsworth out he might was well go to the senate.
