for the time being, it's CCI mini mags for me. i picked up some federal bulk pack at an after christmas sale at gander mountain, but my sig mosquito doesn't like it at all. since the gun is new, i'm going to put around 500-1000 mini mags through it, and hopefully it'll like the federal bulk a little better, i know my wallet does.

I've read some of the posts on here and would like to say that I have noticed my rimfire ammo degrading in storage. My center fire stuff does not. Cci's are the best though.:twocents:

The only thing my p22 will cycle reliably is the Remington thunderbolts. Dirty? Yes. Reliable in all my .22's? Yes. between $14 and $20 A brick. I'll take it. cci minimags, both the round nose and the hollowpoints didnt run worth a crap in my p22.

Where are you finding bricks of thunderbolts? I rarely see them at all anymore, but alway they are only available in the small boxes.

Meijer on southport had them last time I was in there and gander mountain in gwood usually has them. They aren't discounted at all for being a brick. They still ring up as 10 single packs. They are usually $19.90 but I have seen them on sale at gander for as low as $1.29/50.

CCI Stinger for semi-auto rifle. It has more than enough pressure to cycle the bolt in my S&W/M&P 15-22. Zero issues with this round and accurate, and louder, but more expensive.

    Technical Information
    Caliber: 22 Long Rifle
    Bullet Weight: 32 Grains
Bullet Style: PLated Lead Hollow Point

    Ballistics Information:
    Muzzle Velocity: 1640 fps
    Muzzle Energy: 191 ft. lbs.

To save a buck for plinking, most any Federal will do. The Fed. Match version seemed a little more accurate.

I personally avoid Remington brand for .22 due to the wax coating.

The hollowpoint Winchester Red Box is too long which causes FTF sometimes.

Different guns, different ammo. Find one that works for you.
