At one point I modded a set of CT grips for a bobtail and it worked out pretty well. They were the standard black and I just filled the bottom with black epoxy.

Charlie your right on that. I pulled them off and that's the first thing I did was put some epoxy in them but what I used is a slow set so will be a couple hours or more before I can shape them. None the less here is what I have done so far.

However asked for pics, this may not be what you meant :)

    Before

the grips are hollow so I filled them with epoxy

The amount of metal that comes off

Step 1 relocate the MSH hole

    Step 2 Remove excess metal

Stop as soon as the original holes disappear. This undercuts the frame a little but looks right and better than if you leave part of the old hole

    Step 3 Contour by hand

    Step 4 restore finish

In this case that meant bead blasting the area I cut off. nothing else was scratched so I masked off the rest of the frame

The Ed Brown smooth MSH almost perfectly matched the color of my other controls. (Got Lucky there)

Step 5 Reassemble I did change the Sear spring out and put in a Wilson Bullet Proof and increased the sear tension a little since the bobtail springs tend to drop trigger pull a little and I plan on carrying this so I want my trigger pull around 5 lbs. Personal preference

5 simple steps and your done :)

    Done

Done pics are added to the previous post. I will work on the grips a little more later. I just wanted to get it back together and be done with it for the day
