I hear something along the lines that within the health care bill a "student loan" bill was also added to the vote to get it passed as well. Have not hear much about what the "student loan bill" had BTW.

My understanding is that the health care reform bill canceled costly programs that had nothing to do with health care. They did this so Obama could take credit for the cost savings against the cost of the health care part of the bill and make it appear less costly and meet the 1 trillion dollar bogey. One of those canceled programs was the student loan program. The programs that were canceled will be reinstated later.

that explains some of the magic math used to make the bill seem plausible, but his pay-go plan will only go so far, because by law he cannot reinstate the program without first cutting somewhere else. Musical chairs only works for so long until the people realize that there are no chairs to be had.
