White Castle currently employs 9,600 workers nationwide, about half of which are full-time employees. The company will not take away hours or benefits from them, however, according to White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson.

I know many companies and organizations are reducing the hours of their part time workers to avoid being considered "full-time" under ObamaCare, but the title to this story seems a bit misleading. White Castle appears to be doing what everybody else is doing -- if you're part time, your hours are going to be cut.

ObamaCare did something else that is flying under the radar.

Pre-ObamaCare, a 40 hours work week was considered "FULL TIME" employment. Now 30 hours is considered "FULL TIME" for hourly workers.

But 30 hours of pay is 25% less than 40 hours of pay and so more people need to work 2 jobs. Part Time was anything under 40 hours and was often 32 hours (4 8 hour shifts). Now part timers are being cut back to 28 to avoid the 30 hour average limit.

Honestly I cannot imagine a worse situation for middle class America and I can't imagine a worse President for middle class Americans.

    Everything he said, plus more.

I know of a couple of companies in the Medical field that have gone further, just because they don't trust the Gov. They now forbid Part-timers from going over 24 hours. Why? Because the fear the .gov will reduce the threshold from 30 hours to 25 hours. It has hit someone in my family, so I have seen it first hand.

'twill be the way of the future for many industries. Entry level work will be part time. Supervisors/managers will likely be the only full-time in Fast Food.

I can almost see some companies that operate 24 hours a day, going to four, five and a half-hour shifts per day instead of three eight-hour shifts. This would mean the company is producing a product 22 hours a day. The other two hours would cover a 30-minute break for each of the four shifts. Even hiring extra workers to work the shorter hours, they would still likely come out ahead of going with the O'BamaCare Coverage.

then raises the question. how will middle class america afford independent healthcare when only bringing in about $280-$320 a week? The majority, who are in high debt (cars, houses, credit cards, etc) won't be able to work enough hours in a day to be able to make ends meet let alone build a savings.

I think you have stumbled upon the point of it all.

    They will not.

Working multiple PT jobs will also cause increased costs for the worker i.e. less time spent at home, more commuter time, more gas mileage, more wear & tear. The real cost of a dollar is going to be substantially reduced.

This is too obvious for it to not be intentional. Combine this with the financial terrorism being perpetrated by The Fed (printing money) and the unsustainable debt/promises being accumulated/made, it becomes painfully clear that we are being governed by those that wish to destroy individual Liberty. Interesting times lie ahead ...:patriot:

A huge step towards a socialist/communist state. By destroying the middle class we no longer have the income gradient in this country. There will no longer be any of the dozens of economic classes you can identify in this country. It will just be the poor and the rich ruling class.

What is the end game though?

Do they wish to be the upper class and rule the poor, or are they trying to make everyone poor so that the socialist revolution may occur? As long as there is a healthy middle class capitalism will not go away.

Either way it is an obvious effort to reduce as many as possible to the poverty level. To what end is not yet known.
