well i already got my buck this year and i like to do some scouting at the end of the season for the following year. I have never put much thought in using certain trees and plants to my advantage. So if you guys know what are some good trees and plants that deer like to eat and hang around or any other good scouting tips please share.

Oaks are always good trees to me. I also like to stick to areas that offer the top three things deer need. First, I want water nearby, a creek, drainage ditch, a pond, any large or small amounts of water. I also look for food sources, Corn, Beans, Alfalfa, Acorns, or even just grazeable areas. The last thing that I find important is shelter or some sort of safe spot. An area that gives them a little seclusion. Other than those things I would look for where they like to enter and leave these areas. That will allow you with time to start to pattern them.

Deer really like salt lick trees, but they are prohibited in Indiana during the season.
