I have an opportunity to purchase a brand new, never fired Whitney Wolverine 22 pistol.
I don't have any experience with this gun.
Any advice on the value?
is this a reliable handgun?
Any idea on how to identify age?
I assume this is a original, not the plastic Olympic Arms model.
There was one on gunbroker for $900 with box. They are a great
little pistol and the Olympic mags will fit. If you had the serial # I
could probably look up when it was made-there was a book out on these
a year or two ago. And if you decide you don't want it, please let me know the info!

My dad bought one new from a Sears and Roebuck catalog and picked it up at the train depot in Scottsburg. Can't remember what year but I think he paid around $40 for it.We still get it out and shoot it every now and then. Just don't dry fire it they were bad about breaking hammers.
If you can get it cheap, buy it. But think about this first, if it breaks can you get parts to fix it? I say probably not. And spare mags are very hard to find and very expensive.
