    I think that the box limits are helping things get back on the shelves. As for a shortage of .22lr my best guess would be that a lot of those new record gun sales were probably .22 caliber guns.

    Every box of ammo that's sold over the internet moves from a person/place with an ammo surplus to a person/place with an ammo deficit, all for the sake of promoting the shooting sports and the 2nd Amendement in the process.
    Bottled water is also relatively expensive at the local store when compared to the actual cost of the ingredient, but it sure does work to cure thirst and to sustain life.

    500%-800% increase in gun sales from Dec 2012 to Jan 2013 has a lot to do with it. Add to that, there was an increase in gun sales on black friday last yr (just after Obama was re-elected). This has been a people induced panic more than anything.
