funny how some people get triggered easy.
it is and has been generally wise to carry a revolver with 5 cartridges.....
and not to jam 30th round in an ar15 mag....
    but hey YMMV.....

Oh no, I carried a revolver every day for over 20 years loaded with 6 live rounds! I did carry 5 rounds in revolvers that only hold 5. I'm so glad that we have the internet so we can receive such sage wisdom.

CCI/Blazer used to make a SD round with the aluminum case in 45 ACP.

Yep, I believe they used to load the "flying ashtray" bullet in aluminum cases. That hollow point was so wide it would look like a frying pan (or an ash tray as it's namesake implied) coming at you.

This in the days before firing pin blocks on revolvers, or some other reason?

boy I guess youngsters think all revolvers in circulation have "transfer bars" and such.....
let's see-- two of my S&W revolvers have them and three don't. so I can carry with 6. except my S&W 500 only has 5 chambers....
And the springs on my magpul gen3 ar15 are fairly strong so if I put vagisil on my thumb after loading them I will good........LOL
just watch John Wayne in "True Grit"......
explain how to load a revolver to a girl!

forgot to say i carry my glock half cocked "all the time"
    i think revolvers have half-cock
hammer down on an "empty" chamber is better
