The soccer moms whining for gun control are the same ones that won't let us punish murderers, rapists, etc. They're the 'do gooders' who think capital punishment is SO wrong.

They either need to grow up or find a deserted island somewhere!

So what does that mean for those of us who understand the relative risks? It means that we have an uphill battle to fight against the emotional response of those who are overly concerned about this scenario, and generally facts and numbers don’t do any good. They will keep seeing themselves in that scenario and become more and more afraid.

And when you throw in rooms full of slaughtered 6 year olds, the vision, as rare as it may be, causes many normal reasonable people, to become completely irrational.

Although the Newtown shootings are a terrible tragedy, it is politically just the thing that Obama wanted in order to further his agenda of tyranny.

This is why I didn't like the NRA response to put armed guards in every school. It legitimized the hysterical panic reaction by accepting the notion that there's a significant risk. Of course, it's not politically acceptable to tell the truth: yes, it's horrible what happened but freedom comes with some level of risk, but in this case the risk is very low.

The NRA screwed up saying Congress should fund it. States like Utah and a few others are training the teachers for free. No need to increase taxes.
