Why Taxes Will Rise in the End?

Raising taxes and curbing spending might be the only way we will ever get out of this endless loop of pits called Quantitative Easing or Free Spending led Fiscal nightmare.

I somehow doubt the Wall St and its cohorts of politicians would allow that to happen any time soon. Bernanke is already out there shouting the war cries, "QE3 or End of US Economy".

Yes they will rise but that won't fix the problem because they will just spend even more revenue than they generate no matter what. Plus if you raise tax rates over a certain point you will actually generate less revenue due to the laffer effect and higher revenue will be gained from lowering taxes down to a certain point.

Came here to say this. Raising taxes is a fool's errand. There have been dozens of examples in just the past decade of tax hikes incentivizing changes in behavior to avoid taxes. If/when they raise federal taxes, watch it happen on a massive scale.

John F Kennedy was one of those rare democrats that understood economics and when he cut taxes, he wasn't surprised to see more money coming into the government.

There are many things obama-messiah could learn from JFK, like the statement "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"!!!! 'bama has it slightly scrambled.
