    Is it a long wood WCF gun with the machined steel butt plate? If it is it's 30's to early 40's. 94's earlier than that had cressent cut butt stocks. I have no idea what a L would mean but as far as features go that gives you a age range. Also anybody that is looking at a 94 and does not know the serial# cutoff for the pre 64 here is a easy way to tell without even picking up the gun. Behind the loading gate there are 2 pins. If they line up vertically it is a post 64, if they are staggered it's a pre 64.

    Man the model 94 is just one sexy beast. I have two and working on a third. all 30-30's, but each a bit different.
