Make sure you keep the loaded chamber indicater clean. If it is the least bit gummed up it'll jam like crazy. The little silver tab on the inside is usually the culprit so I removed mine and never a jam since. NOTE I don't recommend anyone removing a safety device. Good Luck they are great guns . Dan
Just put the first 150 rounds through my new 22/45 today. CCI MiniMags. No failures of any sort. Next range trip I'll be shooting what's left of a box of Win 555. We'll see how that goes.
Had a real hard time seeing the front sight so when I got home I painted it.
I've had a 22/45 for several years and it eats anything you put in it. My P-22 won't stomach any kind of hollow point. Had the feed ramp polished and it helped, but still has it's moments.
I have about 3,000 rounds through my MKIII 22/45 and it's never liked Winchester bulk pack. It'll eat CCI, Remington, and Federal all day but I've never had any luck with Winchester. I've stripped it and cleaned it countless times thinking that was the issue but no dice on Win bulk pack. I've just stuck with Federal bulk pack and haven't had any issues.
The Rugers don't seem to like the real flat nose hollow point soft lead rounds. The flat nose catches on the steep angle of the feed ramp and causes some fail to feed problems. I have fired 7k-10k Federal bulk through my Mark III with 2 ftf and that was when the gun was dirty.
