    Women's Only Appleseed Event
    (Cloverdale, May 22-23)

Pass the word! Cloverdale will host our first women's only event in Indiana.
This is a unique experience for shooters who would rather not deal with the guys, would rather go it alone with other women and would like to leave the kids at home with their husbands.

Spread the word, and offer to watch the kids for two days. There is no greater gift to give.

    Space is limited.

I will update this thread just as soon as the evenbrite links are up. But for now, glance at the event flyer and think about how fun it would be for you (if you are a lady) or your loved ones to go to. These fill up quickly, don't miss out!

P.S. No, I will not be there. Not even the State Coordinator is allowed if he happens to be a guy... :yesway:

Actually... I may need to rethink this. :(

Turns out the Dayton Hamvention is the weekend before, and I'd hate to request two weekends in a row off at work. It's not fair to the other managers.

Simple answer: Come to an Appleseed in April (We have SIX of them in Indiana!) then go to the Hamvention in May.. That way you can come to an Appleseed when some of your INGO friends (plus that husband guy of yours...) are instructing  Since, y'know, we only have one female INGOer who is also an Appleseed Orange Hat... And we need to get her out to some shoots, too! Mog! Are you listening? :D

The above suggestion is meant for Pami's unique situation. (and notice, I said to come to the Appleseed FIRST! :D) All you other ladies who might be self-conscious shooting around (rather than at :p) a bunch of guys.. This might be a great weekend for you. I've heard wonderful things about your Shoot Boss!

    Blessings,
    Bill

Oh, Bill.. there you go being all logical and stuff. I'm such a dork, and you're absolutely right. I'll check and see which weekends I have free in April. :):

Spending a weekend exercising your first and second amendment rights on the anniversary of the day a handful of farmers changed the world, or walking through Hara Arena amists the peeling paint, bad food, and shoulder to shoulder crowds.

Yea, I said it outloud :D

The Shoot Boss will be Dinky Dao, the Ohio State Coordinator (I believe), and she is very pumped about the event. I have not worked with here but I am told by everyone that has it will be a great weekend.

Sounds like a great time! If I weren't already going with my hubby and his friend to an Appleseed in Wisconsin the weekend before, I'd consider it. Have fun, everyone!

Are you going to participate in the one in Wisconsin or just going?

I was thinking of going to this one but it's a bad weekend.

I'm participating. :rockwoot:Have my purple extended mag release all ready to go! Wanna go to Wisconsin? :): I hear we're camping out, but no one will give me details on what type of camping. I like guns and the outdoors and stuff, but I'm still a girl and I need to plan!

Will do! Bubba's definitely excited, too, and has been scaring our neighbors by dry-firing with the drapes open for the past week! :draw:

On it's face, in an abstract sense of only seeing it written, thats funny.

However... As a responsible gun owner first and an Appleseed instructor second, I cannot condone this action.

Col. Jeff Cooper's universal Four Rules:

    1. All guns are always loaded.
    2. Never point at anything you do not want holes in.
    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
    4. Know your target and your backstop.

    And Appleseed's Four Rules:
    1. Always keep the muzzle in a safe direction.
    2. Do not load until given the 'load' command.
    3. Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target
    4. Make sure those around you are following the safety rules
It seems he broke at least two of Appleseed's rules there, maybe three, and all four of Cooper's.
The neighbors have reason to be afraid, and that just paints us gun owners in a positively horrible light. How do you think they'll vote in a question on "gun control"?

And that's nothing to laugh at.

    Blessings,
    Bill
