In another thread I posted about a rifle I put together for the family. A .308 Axis. I loaded up some rounds using .125grn Hornady SST’s atop 10grns Trail Boss. Test fired a couple before committing to a batch. This was my first experience with subsonic ammo. Goal achieved, felt about like shooting a .22! I had a blast with just a few rounds and can’t wait to get it out again with the family. Now I just need a can to go along with it!

We made some subsonic .223 loads for a suppressed AR a few years back. Friend of mine was trying hard to cast .224 bullets and make a replacement for .22LR for hunting when it was so hard to find. I would have to ask him what the exact load was but my favorite was Bullseye or Unique and 75 grain BTHP. They were awesome once we got them to stay subsonic. Hard hitting an you could hear the hammer drop.
