Did a search on INGO on Wolf ammo. Found a few references to WPA (.223 55gn FMJ), but nothing with many opinions. Dunham's has it on sale for $4.99 a box (20 rnds). Is this a "get what you pay for" situation? :dunno:

I have used it in 9mm and 7.62x39 and had no problems with it. Some people have complained about it being dirty, but the 9mm I used was cleaner than WWB. IMHO.

Military Arms channel did a review of it on here. Im too lazy to find the link.

My personal exp: 7.62x39 in sks/ak good to go. 7.62x51 in the FAL clone good to go. 9mm good in everything except my g17.

.223 seems to be hit or miss. My buddy and I were shooting his ar. It probably had about 500 brass rounds through with no issues. He bought some wolf since I was coming and we were going to spend all day at the range. It was very unreliable to say the least. It was fine in my AR, but I reload now, so I dont use it execpt for my sks/ak.

That and the 5.56 I get from Cwood at Indiana Arms are the only two kinds of ammo I have used in my current AR. About 5,000 rounds between the two and no problems. I was teaching my wife position shooting at the range Sat., and she managed to use the same ammo you describe to shoot a 4 round group of less than 2 inches at 200 yards from prone using her Savage Edge. Can't be too bad.

Put 999 rounds through my AR no problem (the one that was a problem was user error), 500 9mm no prob, many 7.62x39 no probs ... I'd buy wolf/wpa again

Wolf is good stuff. I've used both the black box and "military classic" for rifles and pistols and the holes look the same as brass cased ammo. ;)

I have heard that some ARs will shoot steel reliably and some will not. It might be a good idea to buy a little to try first in your rifle before buying a lot.

I've ran a couple types of wolf thru mine and had trouble with only one. The AR and the SKS run it fine, and Wolf Target/Match is actually the ammo of choice for my ruger 10/22. However, I did buy some for my M&P40c and it doesn't like to eject the wolf ammo. Out of 500rds, I had ejection issues with 20+ rounds, meaning I wont be buying any more for my M&P, but will continue to for the rest of them. Not always the most accurate groups, but it's worked well for me.

I have used Tula .223, 9mm and .40. No issues whatsoever in my pistols. Cheap and adeuate. I am sure there are hotter and more accurate stuff, but for paper punching on the cheap who cares!
I have had 1 .223 out of about 600 or so not go bang. I havehad no feed issues with fmj in my .223 Saiga. I have had some feed issues with HPs, but I think it is mag related and I am not going to blame the ammo.
If it was a touch hotter, I think it would be even better.

I have used the 223 wolf alot with no problems at all. Cheap and good choice for plinking. Only down fall is the steel case. So they can't be reloaded but that's why there cheap

I have shot a lot of it in 762x 39 with no problems. The other experance that I have had is in 223. My M4 eats it up, but my SR 556 wont feed it. I also have a Rem 700 in 223 which loves it. In short it is good practice ammo, but I would not use it for HD or SHTF situations.

+ 1 on the "dirty" for 7.62x39 and 5.45x39. Try some Silver Bear and you won't go back plus it's higher velocity, cleaner and more accurate. The Military Classic stuff for 7.62 is not bad but I'm sold on the Silver Bear stuff for 5.45.

I'm still looking for some Golden Bear or tracer rounds in 5.45 but I'm not trying real hard either.

p.s. If you like your handgun, don't shoot steel case.

I've used Wolf in 7.62x39 and 40 S&W, always had good luck with it. The 40 S&W was definately dirty (I had to use a pick to scrape the fouling out of the barrel on my glock.)
