That would be a shotgun, not a rifle. Shotguns have smooth bores and are designed to shoot a number of small projectiles or one projectile. A rifle has a rifled bore.

Sorry IndianaGTI - there were several 22 rifles made w/no barrel rifling. Savage is the most recent manufacturer of the Mark II smoothbore. Remington also made a smoothbore .22 rifle as well as winchester. 8shot - email me if you are interested in a savage smoothbore.
