Are you sure there wasn't a mix up in score sheets in open:dunno:

OOO well at least I got beat by a guy that has a cool last name.

    Daturbocat is fast.

just glad he's not beating up on all the Production shooters!

I talked to him, after his first stage. He had a big ol' :poop: eating grin on his face. First match for the open Glock and for him shooting a dot sight. He said it felt pretty natural...

    I agree... Cool last name!

My first match shooting open was definitely a learning experience. The glock did it's job. I have to learn to try and keep up with it. The mental part of the game was lacking on my part. The only reason I won open is because I had 97.6% of the available points. Check out my times. (A-59795) They were way slower than the others!

I am happy the gun ran well. I spent a lot of hours building it myself over the winter. It was quite a bit more work than I thought it would be. It is definitely a small personal victory to see it run through a whole match. I look forward to the next one!:patriot:

Mark, how about some details on this Open Glock of yours?

I've been debating on doing one myself for at least a year now after seeing one of Whitlaw's boys shooting one.

Everyone needs a hobby, I guess....

This was only my second shoot and I really enjoyed it. Thanks to all of the regulars that gave good advice on how to run the stages and also some basic shooting info. I did improve some over the first shoot and I will be back. A big thank you to the set-up and tear-down crew.

    Who's Mark?

    Open Glock: (Glock 17)

SJC 11 port comp on KKM threaded barrel
SJC C-more mount (involves frame modification)
    C-more and scopecoat
    SJC heavy magwell
    SJC slide racker
Reduced power recoil spring, striker spring, plunger spring
    Heavier trigger spring
    Tungsten guide rod
    Titanium striker and plunger
Fulcrum trigger with 3.5# connector (all polished to mirror finish)
    Tuned ejector and extractor
    Lowered ejection port
    Taylor Freelance 170mm mag extensions
Duracoat to touch up the exposed metal
DAA belt, mag pouches, and holster
    Grip stippling

    9mm major:
125 gr lead (to keep cost down) 1320 fps
    7.5 gr HS-6
    Federal primers
    Max OAL
    Min crimp

I did a lot of research, and this seems to be the best bang for the buck. I will say that the glock doesn't shoot as flat as the others, but I probably have a third as much money invested. I have a lot of hours building it and getting it to run consistently.

Sorry to hear about your knee HONKMAN. My name's Matt by the way... I am planning to shoot in Atlanta next Sunday if you want to check out the Open Glock.:patriot:

    Hey Jake
It looks like the wheel and the trigger finger are doing alright

Yes, the foot held up, although I was very sore on Monday.

It very good to shoot again and I had a pretty decent match. I had a mike on the first stage that I didn't "see" and a weak hand only mike on the classifier.
My rear sight pin broke and was working it self out, that is what you see me pushing back in on the last stage during the reloadif I hadn't been screwing with that I would have been almost 2 seconds faster. .
