Feel really bad for the family of the park ranger. :(

I've noticed the news media jumping all over the "deranged Iraqi vet" tagline. His bug-out behaviour reminds me of the first Rambo movie. New media will be bringing that up next.

Yeah like one vet that commented on the news story said, There are many people who are plenty unstable before ever joining the military.

Feel terrible for the family of the ranger too. Prayers for them.

Can't wait for the "See we told you this would happen if we let guns in the National Parks".

    Bottom half of article:
The shooting renewed debate about a federal law that made it legal for people to take loaded weapons into Mount Rainier. The 2010 law made possession of firearms in national parks subject to state gun laws.
Bill Wade, the outgoing chair of the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees, said Congress should be regretting its decision to allow loaded weapons in national parks.
He called Sunday's fatal shooting a tragedy that could have been prevented. He hopes Congress will reconsider the law that took effect in early 2010, but doubts that will happen in today's political climate.

Yep, because if it was illegal a deranged man would follow the law and never take a gun into a national park

Exactly just like if guns were banned criminals would willingly hand them all over to the Government and not posses them since it was against the law.

It is tragic for the Ranger and her family. It is sad that the veteran could not get the help that he needed to overcome what appears to be PTSD.

Lets see if they blame it on the law they can get more gun control. Now if the blame it on the PTSD then they would have to admit its actually a problem that they dont take care of vets and would have put more money into military bugets. Our leaders must surely protect us from are own rights far more than help out the needy warmungers and baby killers.

I can see it now.....more strict gun bans, saigas and macs will be downright outlawed, anyone with a "rainy day kit" or "bug out bag" will be labeled a terrorist or a nut job. this is a sad event and the repercussions will be swift and harsh...
