My wife saw me eating breakfast Saturday morning and said, "What are you doing here? Go get in the woods."

2nd piece of evidence--we had a fat doe in the front yard, and I got my bow and snuck the bathroom window open. Then my 9 year old went running by one of the front windows playing a game with her sisters, and the doe bolted. I thought it was funny. But my wife--I had to talk her out of preemptively sending the kids to their rooms an hour before sunset for the remainder of the season.

That's how I know the price of beef must be getting crazy high.

I wish my wife would get excited when I get a deer. She tried it once when she was young and I guess it was a bad experience. She is very reluctant to try again. But hey it's more meat for me!

My wife and I finished our last pound of ground venison on Monday but we still have a few roasts in the freezer. If I can get two dear that will last us almost a year and we rarely buy beef. Haven't gotten out much for bow season this year and the only ones that have come in bow range have been yearlings so hopefully I will have more luck come firearms season this weekend.

I heard you can go to a place that processes deer for hunters and just pay the processing cost and get a deer. Is that true and if so, where?
