Where ever my GPS says I am
I put 140 miles on my bike this past weekend, would have put more but skies looked threatening and a 40 mile ride in the rain didn't sound like something I wanted to do. On another note, got my wife a riding jacket and helmet today. Going to start with riding around the neighborhood, after that we will see. I will let her decide on her comfort level, I don't want to put her at too much risk right now being five weeks into expecting.

My 1999 Harley Classic Police Special will click over 100,000 miles this year. It is the 5th Harley I have owned in my lifetime and is the best. It sounds like the cam chain tensioner is whining and needs to be replaced. I will tear it apart and fix it soon.

I rode the first Gold Wing on Daytona Beach in 1977 when I was working for Drag Specialties. It was yellow and Tom and Penny Ruud wanted to make parts for it. They could see the future...

So pulling into work I lay my bike down. Not going fast at all, get it back upright and it is fine other then a broken turn signal housing. A friend has a pair to give me that will upgrade my old ones (new ones are LED).

    I'm glad you weren't hurt!

I bought my first motorcycle ever last July, a new (showroom demo, but 0 miles) Yamaha FZ8. I dropped it in my buddies driveway that day. Like terrehautian, I was fortunate and didn't suffer any injury or major damage...I did break the end of the clutch lever off.

I have just shy of 4300 miles on it now, been upgrading my riding gear, doing a few odds and ends on the bike. I haven't gotten to ride in a few days due to a recent (very minor) injury...but I ride almost every day otherwise!

I'm having withdrawal pains. Earlier this year I made the decision to quit track riding and sold my track bike. I'm getting too old to recover from a wreck and I was getting closer and closer to the edge with my riding on track. Sooner later I was gonna get hurt. This weekend is a track weekend at Putnam Park road course. I haven't missed a weekend there in about 5 years.
At least I can still ride my Concours on the street.

My wife and I always take at least one long ride every year. She rides a 2014 Street Glide and I ride a 2011 Limited. We are planing a ride next month to Ocean City, MD. We have ridded the Dragons Tail about six times. I don't ride it on weekends because of the traffic that is on and the crotch rockets with a death wish.

Two of the best app purchase I have made was Mad Maps, and Radar Scope. Mad Maps will give you scenic rides in various areas with detailed information along the route. I was at an ultra lite aircraft show and got caught in a storm. We were allowed to park our bikes in one of the aircraft hangers while the storm passed. We walked around and talked to diferent pilots while we waited out the storm. A pilot and County Cop from the Indy area had the Radar App on his phone. His was an android based phone but it was available for Apple as well. I have used it several times to adjust my route to miss the rain or a storm.

You can get free radar at radar.weather.gov, it works quite well although on a smartphone it would be nice if you could zoom into a crisper picture. But then again it could just be the small screen.

As to riding, I rode to work this morning. .19 miles!!!!

I really need to get back to work on this bike again. I haven't been able to ride for too long.

Need to go through the head and fix a leak, finish chopping the seat rails, mount a new solo seat, clean up and mount the electric stuff, and get the exhaust sorted out...
