Everyone is making the same mistake, they're all fragmenting into isolated parts of the internet with no cross traffic. I may not be someone with money but at least I was born with enough sense to know how you actually win this game.

InrangeTV did the right thing. They moved to pornhub. Now while you're laughing about this, let me remind you pornhub is one of the biggest and most viewed video hosting platforms on the internet. They have deep pockets.

If pornhub gets enough youtube refugees that it decides competing with youtube with a new platform would be profitable, they most CERTAINLY would do so. They've also welcomed in all refugees from youtube and are happy to have them on their platform.

Once you get past the absurdity of it, you'll realize it's the best chance, not only for gun videos, but political videos, and humor, to make this move.

I think if the people behind PornHub had half a brain, they'd be running a general video hosting site alongside PornHub. People are sick of Youtube's BS. There's a market opportunity there. Unfortunately it will probably start as a cesspool of content that got banned from Youtube, but as Youtube keeps randomly demonetizing people and letting their moderation be handled by ideological brigades of users, content creators want to go somewhere else that their livelihoods won't be taken away. Youtube has to pretend to be family friendly. PornHub as a brand is not subject to that expectation.

And to the people who have their panties bunched because porn...get over it. The porn business is the only reason this country still clings to a few shreds of free speech. They were the ones in the trenches, fighting the court battles, when nobody else wanted to associate with them. With the antis running an organized campaign to disrupt gun-related communication, we need to take any friends we can get.

...Fairfax, Va.— Chris W. Cox, executive director of the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), released the following statement on Friday:

"YouTube is now in the business of political posturing and censorship. Millions of Americans watch YouTube videos every day to learn more about the safe and responsible use of firearms, and those videos show law-abiding gun owners participating in lawful behavior. By banning this content, YouTube is engaging in politically motivated censorship and alienating the millions of people who turn to the website for education and training. Currently, anyone can go to YouTube and watch a video to learn how to make a bomb, yet the company wants to ban videos depicting lawful gun use? It's absurd. This new policy runs counter to the American traditions of open dialogue and tolerance for diverse opinions and firmly plants YouTube, and its parent company Google, against the freedoms so many Americans hold dear."...

I like the statement as a whole. However I am skeptical of the claim that Youtube allows videos which show how to make bombs. In their policy on "harmful or dangerous content" they specifically call out "instructional bomb making". Since it is against their content guidelines, if it's true that "currently, anyone can go to YouTube and watch a video to learn how to make a bomb", then either those videos are not being reported or YouTube is not enforcing their own policy.

I wish the NRA would stick to what is provably true. It's absolutely true that YouTube is censoring videos of legal behavior regarding gun related content. It's not true enough that YouTube allows bomb making videos, when it says in their policy that they don't.

ON THE YOUTUBE THING - I for one, am overjoyed.

All over the web the gun industry is getting sweaty because of Youtube's shenanigans. Specifically - banning many "gun channels". Reading this after a nice dinner and a deadlift workout (maybe not the best one but nonetheless one that i will feel tomorrow), I can't but think the following thoughts -

1). Youtube is free...and those who post there are guests. Just as I ban anyone I do not like here...because it is my frigging ship and my house...so does Youtube. You are a guest there...for free. Recall when I banished the Chicago PD anti-gun squad when they were trolling here. Recall when I banned the Snake Flag crowd...and the Israeli mafia...and so many other groups that did not live up to the world view and goals of what is OUR TRIBE? No first amendment on a pirate ship...or anywhere else in real life unless its your house.

Want to call the shots? Open up your wallet oh *****rdly gun community and you can. When you are a guest you are bound by the rules of the host. I for one, am overjoyed.

2). Nothing in life is egalitarian. That YT tried to make this happen (even stupid people have a voice) is indicative of their communist leanings. But then again...so many in the gun community are so against capitalism of any sort, it should not surprise me they glommed on to YouTube (and Facebook) so quickly...after all - ITS' FREEEEE. YT allowed fools, idiots, and those with no life experience, to have the same say and gravity of voice as a SWAT Cop, or a Navy SEAL. And if that five-foot-zero wonder was able to fire his custom Glock upside down while getting a hummer from a super model he paid for...all the better. Maybe the target would explode...or at least smolder a little for the camera. The show was more important than the substance...but hey...they show just got poleaxed. I for one, am overjoyed.
    lmao.gif

3). There is no "cause". In every industry - everyone hates everyone else. If Zev could have me assassinated, and if Agency could blow up my car, and get away alive, they would certainly try it. All business is war and there is no cooperation, no matter what they tell you to your face. What this YT position will lead to is that people will have to pay to host their content. And when we say the "P" word (PAY) that immediately eliminates all those living on welfare, and SSI in their mom's basements, or a shed in Camden, whose voice was just as loud as that of a Marcus Luttrell.
    I for one, am overjoyed.
    haha.gif

4). I hope Facebook follows suit and all these fly by night companies are forced to buy a web site and an e-commerce suite, use email and all of those expensive things that a legit business does. And all the while those who hated anyone making any profit on anything will now have to pay for their content...or entertainment again. Thank you Zuckerturd...I for one, am overjoyed.

Maybe now, quality content and the need to read will return.
Maybe now the gun community will cease its downward spiral and become the haven of gentlemen again.
Maybe now the gun clowns will be forgotten (since they cannot afford a website) AND QUALITY WILL ONCE AGAIN RULE THE DAY.

    Yeah. Reloading channels are ****ed.

One could make the case that showing any gunsmithing videos is "manufacturing". Or, if they really wanted to stretch the definitions broadly, it could be that even field stripping videos could be subject to striking. I don't want to start "slippery slope" thinking. But for some of the nonsense reasons that YouTube has demonetized or outright stricken videos in the past, it's pretty easy to imagine a slipery slope from "manufacturing" firearms to simply showing people how to field strip a Ruger Mk III. Or, what about Tandemcross videos on replacing the hammer bushing to disable the mag disconnect. I imagine those videos will be taken down at some point.

I dunno man. I don't have time to go point for point, but I think his viewpoint is kinda retarded.

No kidding, the prudeness behind acting as if a free speech platform is bad because it has adult content is ridiculous. Most of the gun channels on youtube currently would be considered adult content on language alone.

The gun community needs friends. You're going to have to get used to having friends you may find weird until we break through the barrier.

    Hello,

I am searching for someone in the gun community that is proficient in Wordpress to help with a NEW VIDEO 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Amendment website for the shooting community. Searching for a Server company as well that is attached to the gun community, if you know of one that may be in Indiana please let us know. Any help or ideas will be appreciated, would like to set it up as user friendly as possible..

    Thanks,
    RH276

Well, maybe a year or two ago I might have suggested AWS to host. It's fairly cheap and very available. But in today's world of deplatforming, I would not trust Amazon not to pull the same crap as YouTube.

That's my biggest concern. I know there are a few in Indiana just need to call them but figured maybe someone on here may be a server company.

Thing is, stuff is moving to the cloud and centralizing around the big players, because they can offer so many more features. With AWS you pay for the volume your site gets. With elastic beanstalk you can configure things to automatically add spin up more servers when your demand is high, and drop them back when it's low. Deploying web apps is just clicks away. It's a really impressive system. But. It's Amazon. And they're starting to go all in with social justice warring just like Google/YouTube did. As impressed as I am with the technology, I wouldn't recommend them to host anything in the realm of social media.

I guess I'm saying, that because of the major players having these kinds of cloud services, the smaller server companies are probably going to become fewer and harder to find.

Did you receive any strikes or catch any flak like other gun channels did recently?

Not yet. I'm not big enough (just over 1k subscribers) and I don't have sponsors like Hickok45 so I can stay under the radar. However, the new rules for "Instructional Gun Videos" will begin in April. Once that happens, I'll get 3 strikes immediately since much of my channel is how to build your AK from parts.

I've watched some of your videos (I've toyed with the idea of building an AK) and heard about the stupid anti-gun crap rules. That's why I was curious if you had seen any backlash. Are you planning on just taking them down or waiting for YouTube to boot you?
