We picked our first yesterday to see if they are ready to go. Just a little bit early, but man it still tastes good! Cantaloupe are also coming on well. That rain last week should really help everything fill out nicely!

Anyone else enjoy a farm fresh melon?

I enjoy a good ripe cantelope, but for some reason I never liked the flavor of watermelon. I grew plenty of both as a kid helping my Dad with his garden. Perhaps that's why I have little interest in gardening now.

I like both, but there's nothing like the flavor of a big honkin' Indiana-grown musk melon (canteloupe). Night and day difference between those little softball-sized "canteloupe" that groceries normally carry.
