    This won't be a popular suggestion but Henry makes great lever action rifles, ( carbines) they are available in .357 and .44 mag as well as other calibers. The guns are dependable, short, rapid fire, simple and not at all expensive.
    Check them out.

    If there are zombies... there is more important things to worry about than silly "gun laws"

    I am a little sad that nobody has mentioned the need for a bayonet on the zombie gun... its a must because you will run out of ammo at some point.

    I guess I just assumed ANY zombie gun would come with bayonet. Didn't realize there were people reading this that haven't had encounters with the undead yet.

    Interesting discussion : all the documentarys I've seen indicate that head shots are
    most affective . Small caliber low recoil seems best. 5.7 or .223 probably be enough at
    medium range. Super close probably requires high cap 12ga
