    The Blues Appreciation Thread.

Music lovers... Let's take some time to devote a thread to the blues. I've been discovering this long under rated genre, and I'm liking what I'm hearing. Guys like Lucky Peterson, Joe Bonamassa, Jimmy Thackery, and the like... I took my brother to see Joe when he came to Indy back in November. It was an outstanding show. Let's share some of the blues tunes you like.

I'll start off with one by Lucky that I love to jam to.

You know what I like best about most people? Their dogs.

I love the Blues. Old and new. Etta James is one of my many favorites. Pour a drink, relax a while...

May not be of the era, but John Mayer is an excellent guitarist... I especially like his blues guitar riffs.

and this one with BB King

The Marquise Knox Band live at The Beale on Broadway in St. Louis.Sadly, the Beale just closed their doors after 18 years. The wife and I have visited that place a couple of times a year, for the last 11. We've seen some outstanding acts there.

Another St. Louis regular. This band puts on one heck of a show. The Jeremiah Johnson Band.

Those turned off by his “your body is a wonderland” era pop have know idea what an insane guitarist he is.

One of my favorite albums is Muddy and the Wolf (Muddy Waters/Howlin' Wolf). Clapton makes a appearance.
A modern blues singer with an "old" sound, you'd like Susan Tedeski (sp?).... but if we're gonna talk about blues, its probably best to give a nod to the old-timers first.

I really enjoy listening to Buddy Guy, but for amazing guitar skills watching Joe B. is a blast!
