Trek-T is on the list for this year.

    Excerpt from announcement:
Here’s how you can participate in the 2011 GEMTAX promo and the scoop on this year's eligible model....

    1. Purchase a GEMTECH TREK-T suppressor, one of the coolest, premium, featherweight, high-speed /low drag, high-grade titanium, compact 5.56mm silencers from your favorite FFL/SOT dealer between April 18 and May 1st and GEMTECH will pay your $200 NFA Transfer tax for you!

The TREK-T is a high-grade titanium, ultra-lightweight 5.56mm threadmounting suppressor. Compact, light, short: put it on, leave it on for OSHA-safe hearing protection with no compromise in the agility and handling of your host firearms. It may be used on subcaliber (.17HMR, .22WM, .204 Ruger, etc.) rounds of smaller size and lesser pressure, making it perfect for everything from completing the slickest varminting rifle to capping off a coolguy 5.56mm entry carbine.

For more information on the TREK-T titanium 5.56mm suppressor, hit:

    2. With your dealer's assistance, complete your Form 4 with local CLEO or Trust/Corp data, etc., Fingerprint Cards, Certificate of Compliance, etc. Get everything all done and ready to go to BATF... except that nasty $200 dollar check made out to the Feds. Don't worry about that during GEMTAX time - This one's on us.

    3. Instead of sending it to BATFE, send your completed Form 4 package to GEMTECH along with a copy of your dated sales receipt for your TREK-T suppressor. (We strongly and politely suggest you send your submission in a trackable manner, so a.) it gets here, and b.) you don't have to call us on the half-hour for the next two weeks, asking "Umm... Hey, sorry to bug you, but I'm just checking if you got my envelope yet?" From there,

I was bummed to see the details as Gemtax has become something I look forward to every year.

The Trek-T holds no interest whatsoever for me. I applaud Gemtech for extending the offer yet again, even on such a limited basis, however, this appears to be a deal for the new guys.

    Maybe next year!

I am considering it. Depends on what type of price SSNFA gives me. I have read mixed thoughts on the Titanium, but for my shooting I feel it would do fine. Then I would have to thread the 22-250 for even more fun.

Who's whining? You are more than welcome to buy as many Trek-Ts as you like!

However, I would suggest taking a look at some of the other offerings from Gemtech. You may find that for a bit more up front cost, you get a whole lot more than a 5.56 shortie can.

I don't believe the Trek is rated for anything above 5.56x45mm.

The .22-250 is pushing a lot more pressure and speed, which typical 5.56 cans are not suited for. Generally when guys are talking about something like the .22-250 a 7.62x51mm can is used.

The trek fills the bill for my needs. Next year they'll have a .30 cal suppressor in the tax sale. I just know it!

Im really on the fence with this one. I want a 5.56 can, but I dont know how versatile this one could be compared to the Halo. Thoughts?
