Call "it" whatever you want, I won't correct you or even care, because I know what you are talking about. So if you want to call your revolver a pistol, or your LTCH a gun permit, or your magazine a clip, or even if you don't pronounce something by it's proper foreign dialect, I don't care, I won't lose sleep over it.

A pistol is a firearm designed to be shot with one hand regardless of the type of action.

It grates on my last nerve to hear people call a 1911 a "nine-eleven".

    TEEN, people...TEEN. It's NineTEEN-eleven.
As in the year; Nineteen Eleven. 1911.

    TEEN!!!

Whew...got THAT out of my system.

When people on YouTube feel the need to include the phrase "This gun is/should be on Call of Duty" in the comment box of every gun they see, as if anyone actually cares....Seriously friends, step from behind the controller and go shoot these guns yourself, instead of being the expert amongst your friends based on video game specs.

Clips vs magazines gets me too. Another one is bullets vs cartridges.
Since I started shooting I've had to retrain my vocabulary and ex sponge all of the ignorance I had learned from movies, Tv, and the people around me. I still have the occasional slip up, but in those instances I usually correct myself. Sure people would still know what I'm talking about, but I don't want to be "That guy" at the range or in a gun shop.

I have to agree with this one.

Going to high school, I hear these "term" mess ups all the time. People don't understand magazine vs. clip, bullet vs cartridge. I hear that AK-47 is the best gun out there. Most people get these ideas from the video games they play, and I understand that.

I even heard someone tell me that .22s are illegal to shoot in Indiana. After telling him that I have shot them at several ranges, and there are competitions for .22s, he still didn't believe me. He proceeded to tell me that if i am shooting .22s then I must be too scared to shoot anything bigger. LOL

Ones we've been hearing a lot at the shop lately are "case" when they actually mean "holster," and "application" when they actually mean "4473".

ENGLISH, MOTHER****ER! DO YOU SPEAK IT? :dunno:

My answer to that is always "Alright, stand over there and I'll shoot you with my .22. Then we'll see how small it is." :D

Pistol/ revolver gets me every time

Me too. It's either a pistol or revolver, but both are handguns. Also I would say that just general legal ignorance. The whole OC "You can't do that! It has to be concealed!" thing probably annoys me the most. I am by no means an IC guru, but I do make sure to know what is and isn't legal.
