I would not exactly call him a gun owner, it sounds like he was a drug dealer and a firearm (and martial arts weapons) were just tools of the trade. I wonder who has been paying his educational expenses?

    Decent point. :yesway:

    but...

I doubt the media will see/portray it that way.

I wonder if he was an Rx major? Seems like he may have gotten a jump start on his profession. I know the press is going to have a good time with this, especially if they can determine he acquired the weapon thru legal means. I also wonder what he will get if found guilty as far as sentencing? Seems things have been pretty lax for awhile in the punishment dept.

What an idiot to think that he could hide all that in his dorm room and keep others from ratting him out.

I'm not, nor have I ever been a drug dealer, but ~2 ounces of pot and 63 Lortabs is hardly "all that." That could easily be hidden in a small shoe box. That idiot was probably dealing out of his dorm room though.

Ought to be mandatory for admission to classes, including both students and professors. Especially at tax-supported Universities. Also welfare subsidies and drivers licenses.

    does purdue do routine searches?

Not when I was in the dorms 8ish years ago. Single RA per section. I was in the old section of Cary Quad where you could almost touch both side walls with outstretched arms. I never had anyone in our floor or area doing **** like this. I heard stories about the liberal art dorms where it was a bit more common.

So I should have had to pee test in order to attend classes that were being paid for in full? Why? How would that help anything?

they didn't while I was there, but its been 12 years.

probably an RA or student tipped them off. They have a tendancy to take it pretty seriously since one of my gun owning drug dealing floor mates decided to shoot our RA in the head.

:+1: You might as well call 2000 rounds of ammo (you know, four boxes of bulk pack .22?) an "arsenal".

LA dorms? when did they start segregating them?

They weren't specifically separated. Cary Quad was still pretty much all engineering. At one time it was segregated Eng. only. Dorms like McCutcheon and Harrison down at the West end of campus had more of the LA and softer science based majors mostly. I just always grouped The ones out west Lib Arts, and Cary, Wiley, and Tarkington as non LA.
