Anyone else have a hard time keeping things secret? I am rather excitable and can't hold onto a surprise. I just have to give it to the person right away. I proposed 90 minutes after I had the ring in my possession for example.

i just did something nice for my wife but it's not for 13 days. I think I might explode, but I'm going to try to keep it under wraps for another week. This is a way for me to let a little steam out.

My wife is the same way. I have to actually stop her from telling me about birthday and Christmas gifts.

I am exactly the opposite. You can tell me a secret and I will never tell another living soul as long as I am alive unless you say I can.

Mostly because I will forget it 20 minutes after you tell me. Which presents an interesting conundrum. I have actually bought a present for my fiance and then forgotten what it was. So there was absolutely no way I could tell her, but at the same time I can't remember if it is something I bought as a nice surprise or something meant as a joke between us. So when I am handing her that box on Christmas morning and all our family are gathered around I have no idea if I am handing her a nice set of ear rings or a pair of edible underwear.

Don't misunderstand, I can keep secrets and all that spy stuff, just when it's something fun I'm doing for someone else I can't put it off.

I'll just tag her on fb indicating that you'll have a nice surprise for her 13 days from now. ;)

I can still hurt you ok your shifts, even if you're at a diff hospital now :):

Now I think I may have to tell her in case she wants to bring a friend. Ahhh... Rationalization....

I never had too much problem in this area. Working as a minister, a jail chaplain and a counselor, it becomes easier and easier to keep a secret. (except in areas I am required by law to report to proper authorities, mostly child endangerment) At this point in life I hear very little that surprises me. I seem to be more saddened, even to the point of grief, about how people treat each other.

As far as pleasant things, I am pretty good at saving the surprise and happiness for the proper time. It is even more fun, when I know the suspense is building for the beneficiary.

I don't now whether it's a patience thing, or just me being a jerk. M'lady and I were at a jewelry store looking at stuff. She'd already expressed a desire to be married, to which subject I was amenable. (In fact we closed on it a bit over a month ago) My method of proposing to her was to say, on the way home, "Oh, yeah, I just bought that ring we were looking at." She hadn't noticed and didn't know how to respond. I thought it was amusing. I put it on her finger once it was sized.
